Courtney Mumford

Courtney brings more than a decade of experience leading the people function at Montage Palmetto Bluff, one of the premier Forbes Five-Star resorts in the country. She joined the organization before the doors opened and helped grow the team by 50 percent in six months to successfully launch the resort in 2016. Since then, she has led recruiting, benefits, learning and development, and employee relations while serving on the resort’s Executive Committee.

Previously, Courtney helped open the Westin Jekyll Island, personally recruiting and placing 188 associates in a single year. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a proven ability to build high-performing teams, launch complex organizations, and establish a culture of excellence.

Courtney believes that investing in people is one of the most sustainable competitive advantages a company can have. Her experience building and supporting large, diverse teams across a wide range of roles has shaped a people-first leadership philosophy centered on making employees feel welcome, valued, and proud of where they work.
